Don’t forget the aluminum foil…

turkiniY’know, in all seriousness – (or as much as I can muster) – I realize that I whine alot.

Now, I’m not observant enough to realize whether I do it mostly on Facebook, or Twitter, or here, or just mumbling to myself while I’m shuffling around in my bathrobe and slippers, looking for my Xanax.  But, nonetheless…I’m pretty sure you’ve all been subject to it on occasion.

I’m not sure WHY I do it, because I have a kick ass husband, a rockin’ kid and a sweet life overall.  I’m happy!  I suppose I’m just one of those people who are genetically pre-disposed to heavy sighs and eye rolls.  I am aware, though, that I have MUCH to be thankful for this Thanksgiving – and I am.  Very thankful…

…for family.  For friends. For health. For security.  For freedom, and all that entails.  For the folks who continue to secure that freedom, and their sacrifice.  For Juan Valdez and all of his yummy coffee.  For the interwebs.  For organic cotton.  For airlines that bring out of town company to visit, and then send them away again.  For sunshine, and chocolate, and Cokes and smiles.

I’m REALLY thankful for Music.  And you guys, who f0r some inexplicable reason keep coming back to share it with me.  You make it even more fun.

Okay, sap-fest over.  Blech.

I’m sorry I’ve been such a Slacky McSlackerson lately – this Holiday/having Company shit is seriously harshing my planning and organization.  I did, however, manage to pull a “Music to Cook Turkey By” playlist out of my back pocket last night, and I’ll share that with you here.  I’ll be adding to it continually throughout this evening and tomorrow, so check back and click “Play” while you’re chopping celery and onions for stuffing and bird-basting.  It’ll be like we’re cooking together.

Y’know, like family.  Or like caterers – whatever…

Ri :)

I keep going back to the music too, Ri. Pretty much everything/one I am thankful for lately is directly related to it…

You are so much better at these themed shuffles than I am. And yes, I know I’m MIA at the Wave. Working on it…

This shuffle just rocks my socks off! “Thank You” is one of my favorite Zep songs (like all the other Zep songs, haha!). And I love Lightnin’ Hopkins.

But the REAL kicker? Real Men of Genius. LOVE those commercials! Used to know the guy who does them, though I haven’t been in contact in about twenty years. I know this is Thanksgiving themed, but wanted to share that my favorite RMOGs are “Mr. 80-SPF-Wearer” and “Mr. T Shirt Launcher Inventor.”

Okay…bird is in the oven, Italian stuffing all mixed and ready to bake, pumpkin pie & chocolate cake done. Now to make the apple pie, peel and cut the potatoes to boil, roast the butternut squash, make the salad and steam the broccoli.

Is 10:22 too early to crack a bottle of wine?

(and, immodest as it may be – I am LOVING this shuffle. from the “gangster lean” to Bob Hope? Teh AWESOME!)

How bout y’all – having fun so far? xoxo

Everyone has to complain every once in a while, it’s a good way to left off some steam and relief stress.
