Friday Fiver: Volume 3

New format! (And new name, nach.)

I’ve decided you shouldn’t have ANY information before you listen.  Music only – let that stand completely on it’s own, right?

I’ll post the facts on each song and artist Saturday night…be sure to come back and see who’s who, and where you can get them!

getting ready to head out so I only listened to a little of each… which is totally unfair.. but whatever

#1 I’m glad I came into this knowing I wouldn’t be listening to the full song

#2 pleasant enough probably could do the full song

#3 I’m now running a little behind schedule b/c I had to listen to it all and look forward to coming back to listening again. For some reason I believe I’ve heard this before… weird and I’m a happy to have a job (just sometimes don’t like having 2)

    #4 Love! what I’ve heard… can’t go wrong with a tambourine and whistling… little Terri Nunn-esque

    #5 Dig it… I’m liking the Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine folksy-eclectic-mountain music-ethereal-vibe

Oooh, you are a crafty one. Okay, here I go ready to submerge into the unknown (hope I don’t regret it):

    1. Love the guitars. Not so much the falsetto-ish singing. Makes me feel like this is a one-off and the rest of their songs are much softer. Does kind of grow on me but only in an ‘I might not change the station’ way as compared to an ‘I will have you in my collection’ way. Reminiscient of Sinead O’Conner’s “Mandinka.”

    2. Sounds like a song I would hear in a movie and I picture a convertible driving in the desert, top down, airplane hands out the windows. I actually kind of like it.

    3. Nom. Love me some greasy old blues!

    4. Ooh another listenable track. Almost sounds like “Cruel to be Kind” in the guitar there. Dude, I’m actually dancing in my living room to this one.

    5. Hmm. Disappointment after tracks 2-4. Too emo for me. I’m going back for more tambourine …

Holy crap; I actually LIKED 3 of the 5 here. Yay!
    .-= Mari´s last blog ..Yeah, well, there’s that. =-.
