Friday Fiver: I’m playing, too.

…because I haven’t heard any of these, either.

Normally I do listen to them first, and I try to blend some new with old, and mix some genres.  Well, this time I decided not to.  I got five brand spankin’ new songs from a Music PR buddy, and I’m putting them all up together.  I decided that it would be fun to play along WITH you.

So.  Here goes nothin!

    Alrighty!

Did a little listening while reading some news of the day…

#1 was nice enough but nothing that grabbed me and said “add this to your list of must haves” might have to listen again
#2 I imagined the singer from the Cure (was it Robert Smith? *brain fart*) jumping into A-Ha’s Take on Me video
    #3 I can’t remember it
#4 I definitely liked… My pick of the week
#5 I also liked… sounds familiar but not certain. Very Death cab for Cutie like

Can I have that guy’s number? Srsly.

This is one of my fave genres. #3 made my morning 😉

    1. Meh
    2. Sounds like Aha’s “Take On Me” played as a 78 rpm. It’s pretty toe-tapping, reminded me of the Hooters.
    3. OK
    4. Meh
    5. Made me think of the group Big Country.
Tiffani´s last blog post ..Show me your hearing

    1. Had me at first. Lost me with the falsetto.
    2. “Oh! Let’s kiss!” Yeah, let’s not.
    3. Not horrible but not great. A bit too 80s new wave for me. Also a bit of that Friends episode where Ross rediscovers his “music.”
    4. A bit melodramatic for my taste but the singer sounds familiar.
    5. I didn’t want to like it but it’s kind of growing on me. It’s the rhythm guitar. I guess I’m just a sucker for the rhythm guitar.
