Sunday Scoop. Wait, what day is it…?

Okay, okay – I’m slacking.  I know.    But if I don’t get this post up right now, before I go sit in the sauna indoor pool while Liam has swimming lessons, then by the time I get home I’ll have to fix dinner, then he gets a bath, then books and I’m liable to fall asleep reading to him.

I’ll attempt to be back in the swing of things tomorrow.

In the meantime, here’s a drive-by Scoop on last week’s Fiver.  It’s sort of like a present, because four out of the five are available right now, for FREE.  Check it!

Track 1:  Ray Lamontagne and the Pariah Dogs – For the Summer

Free download now at Amazon.com.  You need to go get it for the band name alone, dude.  (Well, that and because it’s awesome.)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Track 2:  Dancehall – Sean Bones

Again with the free downloads at Amazon.  This one is on the Frenchkiss Sampler.  See how much I love you all?

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Track 3:  Live Right – Papermoons

Yup.  ‘Twas free, and can be for you as well.  Go download the Deep Elm Sampler No. 9

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Track 4:  Heaven and Earth – Blitzen Trapper

Do I even need to say it?  Free.  Digital Bang SubPop 2010 Sampler…Amazon.  (These people need to give me a job in their advertising department, I swear…)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Track 5:  People Got a Lot of Nerve – Neko Case

Okay, so you’ll have to shell out a buck for this one.  But it’s Neko Case.  SO worth it.  (of course, I got the free download she was offering when it was released. hehehehehe. ;))

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

You’re going to be a dangerous addition to my reader I can tell already. Loved meeting you last week.

Yay, welcome back from BlogHer! Sounds like a lot of fun. I *love* the free downloads & loaded up my iPod with these gems (and more!) … over the weekend I also stuffed in some old, scratchy, mood-laden blues and some Keb’ Mo’ so I’m just an embarrassment of musical gems right now. Thanks, Ri!
