Threefer with Chris Blake

Y’all remember Chris Blake, right?

Well, he sent over a Threefer made of total win – even though he may have exercised an overabundance of brevity in his commentary. (ahem)  Thoughtful choices, and especially interesting when you consider them and then go back and listen to his music.  Very cool.

Enjoy his selections, and head over to his site to say hey and check out his stuff!

Songs I’ve known all my life:

Pilate’s Dream / Jesus Christ Superstar

(Ri Note: I love all things JCS. I have a different favorite song, though. Carl Anderson was awesome in this. Confession? This is one of my favorite songs to sing full throttle when no one’s around. 😉 )

Heaven on their Minds/Jesus Christ Superstar

Longer Boats / Cat Stevens

Don McLean

(Sorry I’m not including lyrics, etc. this time – this week is kicking the shit out of me, and I seriously just barely had time to post this! Hopefully things will be back to normal soon, though. xoxo – Ri)

Chris, did you grow up in my house?! Seriously, these were 3 albums that played continuosly (well, maybe, just really often *shrugs*)

JCSS is a top 3 in favorite musicals… and #1 in rock operas…
what’s the buzz? tell me what’s a happenin’ is part of my everyday language haha

Cat Stevens.. just wow… I’m sad that we lost so many years of his life. Can you imagine the size music catalog we’d have and love!? Glad he’s back!!!

Don McLean FTW and thank you for not choosing American Pie (not that I don’t like it, because I do, but y’know… he’s so much more than that)

Thanks again, Ri, for making time for this. I know things are busy and hectic for you!

Love me some JCSS. My older sisters had the album when I was a kid & it was on heavy rotation around our house. Then, later when I was grown & living in DC, I saw a revival on stage, starring the movie actors who portrayed Jesus & Judas. It was awesome; awesome, I tells ya!

  3. It is perfect time to make a few plans for the longer term and it’s time to be happy. I’ve read this submit and if I may I want to recommend you few attention-grabbing things or suggestions. Perhaps you could write subsequent articles referring to this article. I wish to learn more issues about it!
