Liam’s All Request Shuffle

I just had to throw this out to you quick, because seriously – I am SO proud.  Liam’s song requests are getting better and better.

Today for instance…he wanted to hear “The Church Song”.  I had no idea wtf he was talking about, but he said

“it comes on a little after ‘The La La La Song, Mama.”  (on the mix cd I have in the car right now).

So, I started clicking the stereo to forward the tracks…and he’s sitting in the carseat waiting for a few notes then saying

“Nope.  Not that one. No.  Nuh-uh.  Nope…”

…until I got to Jack White doing  Wayfaring Stranger from the Cold Mountain Soundtrack.  He grins and says

“That one, Mama!  That’s The Church Song!!”

Now…I had no idea he even paid attention to that song, let alone NAMED it “The Church Song”!!  (And “The La La La Song is Jason Mraz – Wordplay…)  By the time I found it, we were sitting in the driveway.  The kid insisted on staying IN THE CAR until the song was over.  Swear to cheeses – I could NOT make this stuff up.

———

Last Friday, we’re in the car and he asks for “The Twinkle Song”.  That one, I knew – it was Silversun Pickups’  Well Thought Out Twinkles…but I had NO idea that he was beginning to memorize it!  From the back, I hear:

“NA, na na STAR / Na na na na na AFAR! “

———

About a half hour ago, he’s in the Living Room watching Little Bear.  Out of nowhere, he grabs his toy microphone and busts out TWO VERSES of The Raconteurs Steady As She Goes!  I swear to you, you have not lived until you’ve heard a three year old sing

“Your friends have put a kink in the single life / You’ve had too much to think, now you need a wife / Steady as she goes / Steady as she goes”

(yes, he does the back-up refrain, too…)

——–

So…here’s a lil’ Liam shuffle to perk up your afternoon, courtesy of his very proud Mama… :)
